In addition to conducting intensive dance classes in different disciplines and organising classical and Bollywood shows, Swastik Institute of Dance also actively participates in cultural events held all over Sydney at different times of the year. This is Swastik’s way of contributing to the community and an excellent platform for its students to gain valuable experience performing on stage in front of live audience.
The artistic director Swastik, Sumati Nagpal, along with other teachers, and many of the institute’s senior students have not only participated in cultural events, but also coordinated their production. These events range from fairs held to celebrate festivals such as Diwali, Holi and Janmashtami ,Independence day, to talent contents such as Miss India Australia ,Australian Indian Singing and dancing star and Make-up Artist Competition etc.
Swastik has also been involved with many live shows and have performed beside featuring Bollywood celebrities, such as Shankar Mahadevan,Udit Narayan,Bombay Viking,Neha Kakker,Benny Dayal, Sukhvinder Singh and Mika and many more. The institute also participates in and coordinates religious,community and events pertaining to charity such as Parramasala, Parramatta lanes,Harris Park Street Fairs,Merrylands and Granville council events,Cancer Council Charity Etc.
