Classes

The aim of Swastik to create dancers, teachers and ambassadors of Indian dance and culture, takes fruition with the teens. They are the ones who understand, learn and spread the art among their peers giving it a place in the society and in the hearts of young talent.  
 
Pre-teens & Teens classes are for age 10yrs & above. We offer – Kathak, Bollywood, Kathak & Bollywood, Hip Hop and Bhangra – at three levels – Beginners, Intermediate, Advance.  
 
For many teens, Kathak and overall dance becomes more than just a side hobby. We have seen numerous teens become incredible dancers, choreographers and even teachers with their long-term relationship with Swastik.  
 
The grasping power of teens is very strong, hence according to their levels – beginners, intermediate or advance. Accordingly, they are put into a suitable class and we have seen teens grow in dance quickly due to the capabilities of their age.  
 
Kathak, this Indian classical dance form is greatly appreciated by the teenagers who are keen to develop their skills and practices beyond a set boundary. More attention to theory of Kathak is given for teens as they are at a learning stage. Teaching the teens the meaning behind the shloks, kavits, and other dance pieces makes it more meaningful and interesting for them to learn, remember and perform. During each term we have assessments which keep them attentive towards learning and encourage them to learn sincerely.  
 
At Swastik, we highly respect the importance of studies. We know the responsibilities the teens have to fulfill for their schools and future; hence we give them enough room to continue their dance practice by attending the classes as per their schedules and there is no compulsion to perform elsewhere. Even showcases are totally voluntary and they are free to choose if they wish to perform.  
 
Bollywood is a dance form that encourages teens to put themselves out in the world, when they are good at it and know it beforehand, they are encouraged to dance at parties, competitions and social gatherings. Along with complex and challenging choreos – according to their levels – beginner, intermediate or advance – we teach them Bollywood steps as well which they can use at several such occasions.  
 
Forms like Bhangra, which can be called a full cardio intense workout, is great for teens as they enjoy dancing and go through a good workout without even realizing.
